The 2010 Audi R8 lineup gains a new, more powerful model. This 2-seat exotic car has Audi's quattro all-wheel drive and a mid-mounted engine. The entry-level 4.2 has a 420-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 engine. New for 2010 is the 5.2, which has a 525-horsepower 5.2-liter V10. Both models are available with a 6-speed manual transmission or Audi's R tronic 6-speed automated manual.
The 2009 Lotus Exige is the slightly sportier sibling of the already-sporty Lotus Elise. The mid-engine 2-seat Exige comes only as a coupe in S and S 240 models. The S has a 218-horsepower supercharged 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, the S 240 a 240-horsepower version; both are fed by a functional roof-mounted air scoop.
The 2010 Murcielago is a 2-door, 2-passenger luxury sports car, or convertible sports car, available in 4 trims, ranging from the LP640 Coupe to the LP670-4 SuperVeloce. The most recent evolution of the model is the LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, a highly tuned version that is expected to be the last iteration of the Murciélago nameplate, before the model is replaced in early 2012.
The Lamborghini Reventón is a mid-engined sports car that debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. It ranks as one of the most powerful and expensive Lamborghini road cars to date, costing one millioneuros (~US$1.25 million, or ~£850,000). The official press release stated that only 20 vehicles would be released to the public, with one additional car (marked as 0/20) produced for the Lamborghini Museum. Although early rumours indicated the total number would actually be 100, each Reventón is clearly stamped with its number in the sequence of 20 between the driver's and passenger's seats.
